  • How to change the "..activation link sent.." message position in Registration

    • Is it possible to change the position and page of the message that appears after a user registers and J! option is that activation is needed? After the user register, the following message is displayed " Your account has been created and an activation link has been sent to the e-mail address you entered. Note that you must activate the account by clicking on the activation link when you get the e-mail before you can login"

      MY PROBLEM IS: Apparently this message is displayed in the main page, above the main body. (after the user registers it is re-directed there) I've tested in the 3 default templates that come with J!1.5.7 and also with Versatility.

      Because of my Versatility's size/layout, this message is below the fold.

      How can I make that message to appear in the same registration page, or in a special page JUST to show that message to the user so that a user has no way to miss it?

      This is the image of my site ( www.lhd.com.uy ) after the message is displayed (it's in spanish, believe me its the "..activation link.." message ;)

I want the "..check you email to activate..." message that appears after a New User registers, to be in the 'showcase2' position instead of just above the mainbody. (as it is now, as per my image below). How can I achieve that? Thank you.

      find this in your index.php

      <jdoc:include type="message" />

      cut it and paste it under <div class="showcase-module2"> so it will be like:
      <div class="showcase-module2">
      <jdoc:include type="message" />
      <jdoc:include type="modules" name="showcase2" style="xhtml" />
      </div>

      but it will not for registration only. this will affect all message comes from your other extensions too. i don't know how to make it just specific for registration. Hope this help. Anyway, you can try ask this in Joomla forum too because this is more related to joomla itself rather than the rt template.

      Thank you VERY much for the tip. At least now the message is more obvious to the user that registered. I'll check at the Joomla.org forum.

      I'll also try installing Community Builder or something like that to see if the registration process is a bit different. I remember the phpBB3 process and after the new user registers, the message to let the user know she has to activate the account is crystal clear. Then I change to Fireboard and then to Agora and now I have the Joomla standard registration process.

      We have the same problem with system messages being shown way down on the page in Populous and would like to change the position. The code above doesn't work for Populous.
