- If i am wanting to use hostgator ( www.hostgator.com ) to host my site and they use linux servers, I understand I must use a Linux version of Joomla. My question is: Will the install of joomla with my rockettheme template work on their site? I.e. does the install of the template matter?

I use Hostgator for all my sites, as well as many of my clients' sites.
Just ask them to turn off register_globals for you. Their default setting is "on" but they will turn it off for you if you want. (Joomla strongly recommends that it be off for security reasons.)

Donna, do you have a client site you could point to for a quick peek at the speed? I was going to get an account with them as a plan B (but Roland never responded with the affiliate code I asked for to hook him up
), but decided to get a reseller account with Rochen instead.
...still on the fence with Hostgator, but could make a decent 'Plan C.'

- Just for reference I am hosted with DreamHost , they allow you to have your own php.ini and shell access is included in the plan, I have affiliate code too if interested.
