    • Hi Gang!

I know a few guys here use JCE as opposed to tiny MCe editor.

Tell me, is JCE better than the Tiny one? What's good, bad about it and is it better than tiny, and have there been any issues with it - i definitely don't want any data corruption for the site i am devving...

      ok questions over!!

      Be well

      Al

    • Hi Alan!

I just downloaded and installed JCE a few days ago following the advice here in the froums.
I must say, I really should have done that a long time ago, for me it is working much better than TinyMCE.
Until now no problems at all :)

      Try it! Kat

    • if you want to use the editor, I second the JCE
Don't worry, you will not get any data corrupted with JCE
Give it a try, it's not harmful and you will realize why it's better than TinyMCE :D

    • There's another cool editor out there.... got it bookmarked somewhere and it's on my 'to do' list and my list of things to try... but JCE has become my 'best friend'... I haven't had the feeling that I need 'something more' since I started using it. I come from the days of old, coding in HTML, and I know it may be best to go to no editor, code my pages in my favorite HTML app, and paste the code, but for 'down and dirty' fast edits in WYSIWYG, JCE gets the job done.

    • My top 3 to making life easier....

      1. It doesn't strip code like TinyMCE. (even if you turn off code cleanup)
      2. Image positioning and linking is much better!
      3. Linking to Articles from Articles or Modules is as simple as browsing to them through the drop down menus... No more opening up the link in the browser, copying the URL, etc....
    • Thanks,

    • ...and I would be remiss if I didn't chime in as one of the few who every recommends FCK editor on these boards. I like it slightly better than JCE, but probably because I used it in a previous life.

The JoomlaFCK editor is built upon the acclaimed FCK code, which has become the choice WYSIWYG editor for many world class enterprise solutions including Adobe & Oracle. The JoomlaFCK is super lightweight, fast and an advanced feature rich editor. It comes equipped with a sophisticated Microsoft 2007 Word-like interface, assisting the techno-phobic amongst us to manage content with a few simple clicks
