  • INTERNET EXPLORER CAN NOT OPEN THE INTERNET SITE

    • I'm using the TerraneTribune template on my test site : thefantasybaseballhalloffame.com

      Like some, I get the above error in IE 7. I loaded IE 8 and now the NEWSFLASH module will not load. I did what some sites said which was test the modules to see which one is causing the issue, and it's the NEWSFLASH. When I take the following code out of the body the page loads fine, except of course now the NEWSFLASH is out of place :


      <?php if ($this->countModules('newsflash')) : ?>
      <div id="rokmininews">
      <jdoc:include type="modules" name="newsflash" style="xhtml" />
      </div>
      <?php endif; ?>

      How can I still use the NEWSFLASH on my site but for it to show up in the right place?

    • The template works fine out of the box, so it must be a conflict between extensions.

      Searching RT forum specifically in 'TerranTribune' section I found many suggestions and solutions, I am not sure which would imply to you hence please search for 'operation aborted' term in 'TerranTribune' section to find the best solution.

    • heres a quick fix because i have posted an fix for this and no one readin between the lines how to fix it. hers a post from me here www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?t=39703&rb_v=viewtopic

      simple just let let all js files load last, by putting them at the bottom of your template thats it.

      a better fix i post is on page3 of that link i posted what works better on page 3 of that link i send you

      -take from page3: all you have to do is wrap your enter code in your module with <code> code here </code> and that should take care of the IE error message,thanks again

    • Appreciate the help, but maybe I misunderstood ya here.

      I can't use <code> </code> I get an error

      Plus, my subscription ran out so I can't reach your page...

      Any other help? Please this error is really killing my site and I can't find a good answer anywhere.

    • This is very often due to js conflicts that IE does not handle well, if you have too many js, IE will just die.

      The best place to start troubleshooting is to find out what plugin/modules might be the culprit by turning them off one at a time and then reloading the page.

      Another possibility could be conflict between MooTools and jquery i.e. if you are using an extension that uses jquery.

      For start try disabling the flash clock via template manager.

    • Well when I take out the NEWSFLASH from the html or move it above the <body> the pages loads fine. But I've seen other sites that use this template, and it works no problem.
