    Considering phpbb instead of fireboard

Posted 16 years 5 months ago
    • I have used Fireboard in the past because it installed automatically through Joomla.

But I am tempted to expand my horizons because of the phpbb3 template club.

      Is this the basic process:

      1) Install phpbb in a folder next to my site ( www.mysite.com/forum )

      2) Style it with a template from the template club.

Do I necessarily have to fuss with a bridge?

    • Thanks JEM....I am not authorized to view the last two links...maybe you have to already be a member of the phpBB3 template club to access those?

I read the RokBridge stuff earlier. :) Thank you for clarifying that I wouldn't necessarily need that if I don't have a user login for Joomla.

    • Yes, you have to be a member to view those links.

If your Joomla site doesn't require a login, you won't need the bridge, if it does, the bridge is a nice feature to add.

      Cheers!
    • Thanks,
