    Blue Host -or- Net Firms

Posted 16 years 4 months ago
    • Does anyone use either of the two for hosting?
Do you have an opinion on which is better? Would like to hear pro's and con's if anyone has anything to offer.
Feeling better and some design projects have fallen in my lap. I no longer use Go-Daddy and am looking for a new hosting provider and am researching other companies.

If anyone recommends any other hosting services, I am open to suggestions.

      Thanks in advance,

    • I highly recommend Rochen for your Joomla hosting, www.rochen.com Their reseller package is excellent.

Their servers are very secure, and they have a backup technology called "The Vault" that provides an instant backup in case your site is hacked or you make an error during development.

      Hope this helps!

    • Ok, I decided to stay with GoDaddy. After I talked to the Customer Loyalty department and explained my dissatisfaction, they gave me 6 months for free. I could not turn that offer down.

Ive been with Godaddy and even got their reseller deal.. my question to you is.. what were the problems that made you call up customer service? I noticed some considerable lag the other day on a site I was developing.. Im using their shared cheap linux package.

      Also...
Is there another host out there that can match Godaddys Linux

    • They had to renew my dedicated IP address because their servers would constantly "timeout."

A common result from "Over-Selling" their shared hosting.

They use a separate MySQL server from their hosting servers and they are spread across the country. So timeouts were showing up more frequently during Peak traffic Times.

    • GoDaddy has always worked with me, over ad over and over again. They continue to listen to the customers voice and improve GUI or all their sites, so I will stay with them forever.. Might get a Planet account also.. but will never leave the Daddy..

    • bluehost had a 4.95/mo link off of top10 reviews site. I've been with bluehost / hostmonst / fastdomains (same infrastructure / same company owner) for many years. I was a bit shocked on the renewal bill, but since they are 3 separate companies, I just jumped ship to the one I wasn't using and became a new customer at their promo rate.

The only real problem I had was one of my sites shared HW died and it took bluehost a day to replace the hardware and another day to due a restore about a week later when a small HW replacement wiped the site again. My other sites on BH & HM have been up reliably.
