Editing funtions error

    • I am not sure if this is a Joomla or RocketTheme related.

I have been working on a new site (i will call it 1) which was uploaded using RocketLancher 1.5 last week. Yesterday another site (call it 2) via RocketLauncher was made.

Site 2 I tried unsuccessfully to upload and use 3 different extension editors. I even uninstalled and reuploaded the JCE editor twice to be sure that I had done so correctly. When trying to upload an image in an article their was no active upload button. When trying to upload via Media Manager I was either not given an active upload button or was shown this warning.

The server muffindcc.info at RT Staff Only requires a username and password.

Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection).

During this time site1 has been working fine and I have been entering most of my information for this site using copy paste from an old site. Now however in the last hour I am not able to upload images and it is behaving the same as the site2. I cannot even copy and paste anymore, Or I should say I can copy text and paste text, but not images.

In doing comparisons between the two I noticed this morning that site1 which had up until an hour ago worked fine, was version Joomla! 1.5.8 and site2 was Joomla! 1.5.9 Now they both say 1.5.9 So I am assuming that maybe there is a connection, but cannot figure out how to fix the problem.

    • That is because of the migrator James was using :)

Just remove the link and the error will be gone.

      Hi Donna!
You can set "Enable Flash Uploader" to "No" in the Global Configurations.
Then you should get the buttons working to upload images in the Media Manager and inside Articles.
It is a problem in Version 1.5.8 only as far as I know.

      Hope that helps.

    • Kat the Flash Uploader is set to no and I am able to upload images through the Media Manage, but still not able to inside articles.

I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by remove link Prim.

Also, this sounds dumb, but is this why I can no longer copy and paste pics between one site and the next?

    • Hmm, I am just guessing now:

      1. Which browser are you using? Maybe you try in another browser and see if the buttons for image upload inside the articles will work.

      2. I dont understand how site #1 can go from 1.5.8 to 1.5.9 by itself?
You only did copy and paste with content or also with joomla files?

      3. Also when you were trying to install the editors in site2, which error messages did you get?

    • 1. I have tried in both IE and Firefox

      2. It didn't, I have since found out the man who installed it for me also did the upgrade. I was copy and pasting from one of my Joomla sites to what will become the new site and also from other sites off the internet (got permission of course) and this worked well since I had to start new, but around the same time as upgrade can no longer do this with images.

      3. I did not get any error messages at time of install of editors.

    • 1. Hmm, so it isnt browser-related. But I dont know what else might cause the problem.

      2. Ok, so the update did not just happen by itself, which would have been REALLY weird
Did you paste images directly into your articles? I never heard that this is possible.

      3. You said in the first post, that you tried unsuccessfully to upload and use 3 different extension editors. How exactly did you do that?

    • I am guessing that maybe this is a new Vista function, being able to copy and paste images? It only works in IE.

I used the upload manager which worked fine, but was not able to upload images in articles again. It is strange that this happens in both IE and Firefox and on both sites. Maybe a server issue?

If anything out of the normal is going to happen, it will happen to me, lol.

    • I still can't find a solution to this. I am able to upload through media manager now, but still can't add images through articles.
