Global Settings Not Sticking

I have changed the global parameters for articles, but they do not stick. They continue to appear on the pages, however when I check the parameters the radial buttons for hide creation date and mod date are correct.
Any ideas?

Norm,
If you set the parameters in any other article it will over-ride what you have set in global. Including your menu settings. My guess you have a conflicting setting somewhere.
