    • In my opinion it doesn't make sense. In economic science, a producer CAN lower prices as production increase, RT choose the other way. Inflation and costs are not a serious argument. Economic world crash IS the argument. During economic crash ANYONE MUST low his prices. So, I will not renew my membership.

    • Yeah but if you take how much it would cost you to create the same template in terms of your hours worked * your payment rate - at least for me - it's cheap...

      There is no economic logic in this whatsoever. Ever heared of the price elasticity of demand? Look it up and you'll find that there is no logic in lowering prices in times of economic crisis. Furthermore, there is more value for money.

    • No logic in it?

      Dude - you don't charge enough for your services.

      I make back the cost of my pro-level membership WITH A SINGLE BASIC IMPLEMENTATION!

      There's a thread in the Dev Lounge at the moment - "What do you tell your customers about templates?". The poster was asking whether it's a smart idea to tell a client where the template is coming from and do you show them the selection here.

      I said "Absolutely!" and went on to tell her how I ask the client to choose a template and style, tell them that (the basic option) is to get their logo made web-ready by my recommended GD, that costs them $100 - then I put the logo in the header, alter the footer and make other basic modifications for $500.

      BAM! Membership paid for.

      At twice the current price, I wouldn't be giving up my membership. I've been here since 2006, and I'll be here until the end. BEST MONEY I SPEND EVERY YEAR!!

      the topic is - how to pay to receive a service -, and I think your prices are too high NOW, I've subscribed your club to have a RAD set of tools to develop front-end objects, but by now I get convenience if I code my templates by myself

      @Roeland Aernoudts
      sure, I've heard about price elasticity of demand... but in time of economic crash, users buy objects from indian or chinese market because of the convenience, so what are you talking about? In my country, in Europe, fuel price is going to zero, other objects prices are going the same way. Requests for RT membership has gone high in the past because of the price of joomlart memberships, for example, but if you set the prices so high now, users will go to other templates places

      Not running a serious commercial site then obviously?

      I find it staggering that people complain about spending a few dollars on something as crucial as your website presentation. Hosting is another area where people moan about paying $10 per month when it is the life blood of the business, and then and go for lunch and pay more than that for one fast food meal.

      Generally you get what you pay for, but in the case of RT you get much more than you pay for - not only that but Andy and the team give us lots of great extensions, bonuses and other freebies he need not give us.

      I suggest you get things in perspective.

      Only for my curiosity... I would like to know opinions of someone that's not a FRIEND (personal or related) of the team, and that's not an addicted user of this site/forum...

    • LOL - OK ... so you only want to hear from inexperienced members, or people who share the same opinion as yourself. That's cool - enjoy your narrow perspective and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.
