I've read a lot of post but just want to make sure before I mess something up. My new site is under the Joomla directory do I just move all the files and directories up on level to the root or leave them in the Joomla directory? If I move it up do I delete all the old files and directories? Thanks for the help!

Kent,
This all depends on your hosting environment and how you've setup your install. The easiest way would be to point your domain name to the directory where your joomla install resides.

- It doesn't hurt anything at all. How you will accomplish this depends on your hosting environment and the software they use. cPanel is the most common but you should check with your provider to see what they have. Most likely they will have a FAQ that explains how to forward your domain to a different directory too.
