    Transfering weblinks ?

    • I would like to know if there is an easy way to transfer or copy my list of weblinks from one template to another? I have over 60 links, I don't really want to do each one over again. Help, please!!!

    • If you only switch template then it shouldn't affect your links. If you need to backup then use JoomlaPack, it's great :)
    • Please reply with a direct link to the issue & create a new thread for each new issue.

    • My bad. I should have been a little clearer about this. I want to transfer just my weblinks from one complete installed template (site A) to another complete installed template (site B) on my test server. I am hoping I can maybe cut and paste a few files? I have over 80 links in four categories so far. I really don't want to do it all over from scratch.
      If there is an extension that can do this, that would be great!

    • It's got nothing to do with your template. It has everything to do with your Joomla installations. If you have phpMyAdmin (not a Joomla extension), it's a simple task of copying your jos_weblinks database table and the appropriate entries from your jos_categories table from one location to the other.

      There are site replication extensions available - but I'm not aware of anything will allow you to select just your weblinks and the appropriate categories for transfer.
