How to post date/time in module?

- I see on some of the templates a date/time. How do I get that into a module?

- A custom module drawing on the PHP date function? Something Javascripty that echoes the user's local date/time back at them? The possibilities are many and varied.

I was thinking maybe the php date function in the index. But putting it in a module i'd have to use JS. The editors dont like that stuff, everytime you edit it, it goes away. I'm leaning towards the php in the index at the moment. Just curious of other ways, extensions or anything relatively easy.

Blow the editors (and if you don't want to lose stuff on save - turn them off) ... create a custom module. Honestly, in the time it's taken to participate in this discussion, you could have created 3 of them with funky graphical displays and a cool little fireworks display at the top of each hour.
