I have a question. I am using one of the forum templates from phpbb.com in my joomla site. it is an external link from my site and also it is on subdomain of my main site. What I want is to enable users of my main joomla site to access my forum too with their the same usernname and password.
let me make sure i get this right, when I install phpbb3 i do NOT put it in a folder under the joomla root? so if joomla is at /public_html/ then phpbbs would also live at /public_html ?
won't that overright the joomla index.php file?
Can a phpbb3 install that was put in /public_html/forum be just "moved" to /public_html ?
so if joomla is at /public_html/ then phpbbs would also live at /public_html ?

In either case, don't upload the files to the root or the Joomla folder, upload the phpbb3 folder so the files stay separate, intact, and don't overwrite Joomla files.
ok, thats what i did i put the phpbb3 files in /public_html/forum and when i follow the instructions it says for RokBridge that "forum" won't work. Only if I rename it to something else does it work.
Yes, the RokBridge files are put in a folder named 'forum' by default, and the name for the phpBB3 folder is 'distribution.
You can rename the 'distribution' folder when you configure RokBridge, if your configuration is set properly, everything should OK, if not you should receive errors telling what needs to be corrected.
ok thats the problem. because I had phpbb3 in "forum" while renaming the phpfolder area to forum ( which it recognized was phpbb3 ) it prohibts from resuing that folder. Question though, this creates two urls to the forum.
zodiacs-of-pwi.info/forum/
and
zodiacs-of-pwi.info/commuinity
anyway to change that or limit one?
