Two columns within an article

    • Hi there,

I wonder how / whether it would be possible to have two columns within an article without using tables. Have a look here:

      www.apple.com/de/finalcutexpress/#titling

Don't know how they did it. It's just to convey what I'm talking about. I think it looks beautiful and magazine / newspaper-like.

      Pro:
Text is much easier to read, as the columns are more narrow.

      Contra:
The user needs to scroll more often up and down.

What do you reckon? Any ideas? Worth thinking about it?

    • You can format / prepare your Article / Module text in your favorite HTML editor and paste the content in Articles and Modules using 'No Editor'.

Much of the content in the demo templates is created this way.

    • Good Morning,
I'd be interested in seeing how this works as well.

Let us know how your experiment turns out.

      Thanks,
      Matthew

    • And consider JavaScript implementations of the CSS3 multi-column styles. For example, see:

      www.alistapart.com/articles/css3multicolumn

Then, just add some RokCandy to create a surrounding div with the class which defines the column-count property to some number higher than 2 and, voila!, you have multi-columns.

    • Perhaps its worth noticing that you can learn a lot from the demo content of the rocket-launcher-packages. You can find always good examples for the use of columns with custom html/css.
