Modified Date not Trustworthy; Wanted: Downloads by Date

I've been having some problems with one of the templates (Akiraka), and it seems that part of the problem is due to the fact that the Modified Dates in the downloads are not correct. For example, the Akiraka RocketLauncher says it is 17.02.09 (Feb 17, 2009). But, if I download it and open the zip file, I discover that it has date stamps as late as 15.04.09 (Apr 15, 2009).
Because I downloaded Akiraka on Feb 27, 2009, so I assumed that I had the latest content. Had I known that the template was updated, I probably could have saved several hours of trying to figure out why I was getting Apache log errors for RokBox and RokTabs issues.
Please, please, update the Modified Dates in the download areas so that I can know when I need to update my subscription downloads. Now, I'm wondering how much other old content I have.
What I'd Really Like to Have
It would be very nice if you could provide a way for subscribers to keep our downloads of the templates synchronized with your updates. The Modified datestamp is apparently untrustworthy. Worse, it requires that I troll through all downloads to discover if I need to update any of what I've already downloaded previously.
How about having the downloads organized not just by template name, but by date? Then, all I would need to do is to download the changes since my last download session. It would also reduce your server load because I wouldn't need to look at as many pages as I'm forced to check right now.
This would be a big, BIG help to ensure that as a Developer Subscriber that I provide my customers only with your most up-to-date, wonderful templates! - Steve Amerige,
