seems like a great idea. i wonder though whether it could be applied to joomla templates.
personally i find it a real hassle changing every gradient when i want to change the colour scheme of my sites.
possible? - Say no to Internet Explorer 6.

It's an interesting technique, i'll take a look but i have a feeling it will cause rendering problems in anything complicated. Plus you don't have real control over the blends, just a lightening or darkening. Fireworks is much simpler than photoshop when it comes to changing a color blend, you just click the rectangle and change the color. In photoshop or any other bitmap tool, you have to recreate the whole gradient/blend image, i'm sure if this guy had used fireworks to start with he would never of even got frustrated enough to come up with this alternative
