Upgrading to new template?

Is there an advantage to upgrading to a new template over older ones such as Populus? Thinking of upgrading from Populus to SolarSentinel but thought I'd ask before making the move.

hi kent,
in my opinion, it's really just a matter of taste and functionality if you stay with an older design or switch to a new one. if you like your populus site as it is, there is no need to start over with another template.
but i have the same problem, whenever there is a new template released i want to use it on one of my sites, it's very tempting even though it involves a little bit of work.
and yes, the newer templates are more flexible because they have a lot more module positions, and all the newer extensions like rokajaxsearch, roknavmenu, and all the cool new toys in solarsentinel really would be great to use on a site.
maybe you want to post a link to your populus site, so we can have a look?

the site looks pretty nice already, just wondering how did you setup the forum?
if you are using the rockettheme phpbb3 template, you will have to wait another months before the phpbb3 solarsentinel template comes out, so maybe better to stick with populus?

I am using the phpbb rockettheme template and knew I'd have to wait just thought the new templates may have better functionality and improvements, but I do like our site.
