How to Find Your Content
Basically, content is published two ways; as Articles, or Modules.
To see what is published where, you can look at the template positions in the template Module Positions screen shot from the demo. If you don't have the demo installed, you can go to the demo site, it's always located in the same place in each demo, Features > Module Positions.
Note: You can right click, 'Save Image As', and save the image to your computer for future reference.
If you're still confused about where something is on the front end when you are looking for it on the back end, add this ?tp=1 to the end of your URL to view the module positions.
E.g.: www.mysite.com/joomla/index.php ?tp=1
So, if you can figure out if it's an Article or Module, that's half the battle.
Next, you want to login to the back end as admin.
For Articles, go to the Article Manager, all the Articles will be listed there, you can use the sort feature to narrow your search by selecting 'Select Section', 'Select Category', or clicking on 'Front Page' to quickly find the Front Page Articles.
For Modules, go to the Module Manager, all the Modules will be listed there, again, you can use the sort feature to narrow your search.
If you know the position, for example, left, advert1, user1, you can sort that way.
If you know the type of module, for example, banner, login, you can sort that way. - Thanks,

Ok that helped out a bit.
I found an area called [raw outline]. It is not listed in the module manager and it is not an article. How do I manipulate it, edit it or remove it? Where is it generated from?

If you install
RS Finder!
(free), you will be able to quickly access to anything from articles, menus, plugins, modules and components just in typing 2 or 3 letters. For example, type rok and you can go directly to RokCandy article, RokCandy component, RokTabs category or RokBox menu item.
Big timesaver !

I've just about got this figured. All the information here has been very helpful. There is one place that still seems to elude me on the front page.
The demo content says Kinetic February 2010 which, after playing around with it, I have it figured. The area JUST under it though appears to duplicate articles from the rotater at the top only with no read more button.
I wish to use this area to display a form instead of half of an article. However I cannot seem to find a way to do it...
