Assigning templates in place of wrappers
Posted 16 years 1 week ago
I am in the process of building a site with a number of theme network sites using a DirectoryPlazza site template as my main site.
In place of using wrappers to link to each individual sites is it possible to assign a template to each them site... like?
..../cars
.../property
.. etc
As I am not sure how the search engines view wrappers for SEO?
Thanks

Unless you have control over each individual sites and can assign template to them, no.
Thanks,
jim

Hi Jem
Not sure I understand what you mean by "control over each individual sites" ..
I have built each site and have set myself up as super admin.
How would I go about linking to each sub domain in place of using wrappers?
Do you know if wrappers could damage search engines SEO as a wrapper is really a wrapped iframe and search engines pretty much ignore frames etc.
Each template theme has an individual sub domains?
Thanks

In that case, can't you use external links instead of wrappers and link to the sub domains?
Thanks,
jim

They all form part of the main site.
I have a main site ...which is still under development.
each sub domain has a tag online like
surreyeasysearch.com
/cars
/property
/business
...etc.
What I am trying achieve is that I have a main site that can link to each of these individual sites which have their own templates, comps, mods etc but I want to keep the main site theme so that I have one main menu for all the sites.
Thanks
