    • I have a better idea on this, put it up as a request and make it specifically using rokbridge, that may be a more beautiful solution.

    • I am unable to create a topic in the Rokbridge board.

I have another question. Will Rokbridge work with a phpbb3 forum that has been converted from SMF?

      Thank you

    • I do not see why not, all RokBridge does is allows J! and phpBB to share user info back and forth so that you do not have to login twice one for the forums and one for J!. The only drawback is if a user changes their password in phpBB it will not carry over to J!, but that is not the case on J! side.

So if you do switch over to phpBB, disable user registration as well as allow user to change passwords, this way they have to do it on J! side and everything will carry over to phpBB.

Do you have a membership to either of the two clubs? When you do, you should be able to post, else it is read only.
Yes, rokbridge will work with a phpbb3 forum that has been converted from smf.

    • Unfortunately my membership expired last month, and I just got laid off so it may be a short time before I can renew. I really like the RT tepmlates, so once I am able I will become a yearly customer again.

Rokbridge does seem like a better solution for me, as I plan on adding some things into our Joomla site that would require J! to be the master.

I just need to find a genius who is willing to code the newsflash to work on the phpbb template.

    • Well, I think that will prove a little difficult:)
It needs knowledge of several aspects, php/mysql, phpbb3, joomla, rokbridge and ofcourse javascript :cheesy: So, I think you'll have a tough time, but you never know. In the case of Rokbridge there is no master/slave setup. Both are equal partners :cheesy: That is probably the greatest thing in the whole equation. If you look for example at some of the latest post modules for joomla, these take information from phpbb3 and report it in joomla.
The roknewsflash module would be one step up, doing it the other way around, but since the module is more advanced in terms of presentation it is a bit tougher.
      Good luck on the jobhunt!
