Branching out from Joomla..?

    • Heya -

I've been setting up Joomla sites for the last 3.5 years or so, and discovered RocketTheme design shortly thereafter. I love your templates. I want to use them for other web platforms as well.

Unfortunately I have given up on Joomla...1.5 has had an unwieldy number of permissions/install/security issues and I just don't have any interest trying to figure them out anymore. Part of my trouble had to do with selecting GoDaddy as a host - yes I tried their fixes to no avail - what made GoDaddy *useful* was being able to hand off an entire site/account to clients at the close of a transaction. (I have experienced these errors with their dedicated virtual hosting servers, too...not just a 'basic package'.)

Please tell me there are plans to port your templates to other platforms. Your designs load fast, look great and I appreciate all of the module tutorials, too! I have purchased templates from other vendors in the past, but RocketTheme is simply a cut above the rest.

Some platforms beyond Joomla which come to mind:
      Drupal, Concrete, Wordpress, Plone, ExpressionEngine

If I ever do another Joomla site, RocketTheme will be my first stop. Hell, if your devs decide porting isn't too difficult, I'll stick around!

...but please, tell me there are plans?

      Thanks,
      Todd

    • Other platforms are being developed for as we speak, I really can't elaborate any further at the moment though.

If RocketTheme.com would begin a Drupal club then I can guarantee you'll end up with a lot of new customers! Especially if you can design drupal templates as nice as the Joomla ones you have been designing.

Thanks for the heads up, Andy. I look forward to hearing the news! 8)

    • Yes, Drupal does not have a good club template... RT quickly became at the best Drupal Tempalte Club, undoubtedly. Wordpress is another popular and solid CMS platform... I hope RT do it.

      Andy, you think so?

    • I like Joomla, and have a website on using it for law firm websites. I also like WordPress. However, I agree that RocketTheme is the best by far, and would love to have WordPress themes from RocketTheme. Sign me up!
