So true, Peter. I had to edit my config setting PHP file for SMF and for Gallery 2 in order to get them back up and running. I think that SMF does that automatically but Gallery 2 was a bit more manual.
The Joomla 'configuration.php' file needed a little adjustment when I uploaded the file for my local server to the domain. Man, I'm not a coder, but I think this stuff is starting to make a little sense!
