The parameter file params.ini is unwritable!

    • I am unable to edit the Template settings in Joomla Admin. The permissions on the file params.ini are not holding. I am getting this message:
The parameter file /templates/rt_hyperion_j15/params.ini is unwritable!
I have set them to writable every way possible, including getting my ISP support to do it. Nothing works. It seems that the template is conflicting with some of the Joomla code and resetting the permissions to chmod 555 every time new settings are entered and the Save button is clicked. It makes the Template settings unusable and unconfigurable in Admin.

I have had this issue with two other RocketTheme templates.

      How is this issue resolved?

      Thanks,
      Chris

    • Hey Chris,

It is not a template issue, but a Joomla one. Sometimes, this is just non-substantive error, meaning that even though it says the params.ini file is unwritable, it can be changed. Have you tried making your changes to see if they take hold?

If not, you can try entering your FTP settings at Admin > Site > Global Configuration, that should fix it.
