How to import data for a long list of registered users. SOLVED.

    • I am creating a site for an organization that wants to provide content to a closed membership list as well as to the general public. The problem I am having is that their existing membership list contains over 1000 names and email addresses. I would VERY much like to avoid having to enter these manually, one at a time, into the Joomla admin interface. Does anyone know whether it's possible to import a tab-delimited file with names and email addresses, and if so how to do that/how to set it up?

      Thanks in advance :)

    • You should be able to do it through phpMyAdmin. I know it can import CSV files into tables. You would want to import it into jos_users. It's pretty straight forward.
