Hi Guys,
I need a component that will allow my users upload files with some description, set publish and unpublish dates and an option to restrict files to registered users when required. I have been thinking either to use RokDownloads Pro or DOCman but not sure so need some help in deciding.
Q's:
1. Where do i download the Pro edition of RokDownloads or is it not avaiable yet, if so when?
2. Does anyone know the Pros and Cons of each component
3. Do these components have a front-end manager to allow users to uploads files or does it have to be done via the admin control panel?

I don't know the pros and cons of RokDownloads as I haven't used it for much more than testing...
But I have used DocMan on a few sites.
The only downside to DocMan, if you can call it that, is that it needs Legacy mode.
But it's a very stable and well supported component.
DocMan 2 is in development, but again, there's no clear time-line.

DocMan does, I don't know about RocDownloads...
You may also want to check out PhocaDownloads which is also J1.5 native. - Thanks,

No problem!
DocMan is old, and RokDownloads was never meant to take its place, and even with a pro version, it may not match the functionality.
Phoca seems to be somewhere in the middle and will allow you to to some cool stuff while waiting for RokDownloads pro, or DocMan 2.
I'm in no was affiliated with Phoca, but I'm a big fan of Jan's work.
