Just wondering for the sake of search engines and similar - how important are domain names?
For instance if you have a site like mine with the name of beta-code.com would I be better of with a Joomla-something name instead?
Anyone got some thoughts, tips, hints on this subject and I would be a happy man

- I'd say very important that your domain name is also the subject of your site. I think the search algorithms look favorably on sites that have domain names that appear often in the content.

- Yes, I agree. The domain name is important for SEO (and visitors too). For SE I think there is no diference between domain names like joomladesign, joomla-design or joomla_design but for people joomladesign or joomla-design is better...

You cant have an underscore (_) in the domain name anyways.
and in my opinion, the domain name is important but is not the vital information to SEO success.
Many other things are way more important in SEO, if you need more help please let me know
