    multiple templates with different content

Posted 15 years 10 months ago
    • I'm new to joomla and don't understand why when i switch to different templates, the content moves to the new template. How do use the same template but have different content for each?

    • See this thread:

One you've duplicated your template (as many times as needed), you can assign different menus to different copies of the template.

For example, you can assign the 'Home' menu to the main template, the 'About Us' to a copy of the template, and the 'Contact Us' to another copy, etc.

    • maybe i should put it this way. I want to have two different sites. one for my charter business and one for my property management company. I've created the charter site on my local machine and now would like to work on my property management site. So when i assign a new template as the default, the content for my charter business is in the template. So do i just start building the site and assign it new articles?

    • Well, in that case, you could use JoomlaPack to back up and duplicate you first site, and then with the copy, edit your content for the second.
