Happy New Year to you all.

You know the drill with this thread; use it for nominations only. If you're nominating your own site tell us what you've done to the template and what, if any, components, modules or bots you're using. If you're nominating one of my sites or another site you've seen tell us why you like it and why you think it should win.

      Rules can be viewed here:
      www.rockettheme.com/index.php?option=com...mid=149&topic=2459.0

The winner will be announced at the end of January. You'll get the respect of the RocketTheme community and your peers (previous winners). You'll also get a very special page on this site where all the winners go (November and December going up soon; it's been a very busy last couple of months):

    • Id like to nominate my own site Xbox User Space because this is the project I have been working on for the past 3 or 4 months the minute that the Trooper Templates have been released.

XUS launched on the 4th of January and after 19 days it already had more than 1000 XUS Profiles/Users

      Template related:
I finally managed to replace the top left images with a module position.. it now has an example xbox gamercard and when logged in, it shows the users gamercard. Then I added a quick login panel in the header when browsing the site (everywhere except for home and forum) and there are lots of changes relating to images and color.

Frontpage is still the core joomla frontpage, however the contents are replaced with one box showing "about" tabs and another box showing the latest features, news, announcements and first user steps.
The "Join the XUS Community" Image will also be replaced with another slider relating to user stats, online users and latest users.

All visible images have been replaced and customized to a "global" feeling which is dedicated to "World Community".

I have integrated SMF quite "smoothly" as I understand from people and they say it fits perfectly to the site.

      Special Bots related:
Im currently using RokMember, RokGuest, MosModule, JSMF Discussbot and Tabs n Slide bot.

      Components related:
The only big components I used were the JSMF Forum along with Community Builder and alot of its plugins.
Then I used components like... Userlist XTD, Groupjive, MPJirc (soon) and maybe some others..
I also created static content items to show modules in the static content pages with the mosmodule bot.

      CB Plugins related:
Wow... alot... lets see what I have in my head right now:
Profile Book, Profile Gallery, Videos Streamer (YouTube, GoogleVideo, etc.), PlaxoInvites (invite contacts from your mail in your profile, custom profile urls (Users can change them at anytime they want, even through the module!), CB Gamercard (created myself, this allows users to display their Xbox Live Gamercard and even change the Card ID - Card Template in Edit Profile!), earn with xus - add your adsense client id and earn 50% income when someone clicks the banner on your profile, also earn 15% income from each user you successfully invite to the siteo...and much, much more...

      What else should I write?

Xbox User Space is an Xbox Live Community Site with lots and lots of User Friendly features. XUS has been released on the 4th of Jan. 07 and already has over 100 Users with many of them believing it will become huge.
It's like MySpace, but for Xbox and Xbox 360 owners who also want more and cooler features...

I have spent lots and lots of time doing this and I set up everything myself and also paid alot of custom things for the site, the only things I havent done were of course the open source joomwares and the images that were thought by me but created by the XUS Graphics Manager.

Im thanking the RT Template Club to support me all the way to this site (with RT I became Dreamhost Site of the Month in March with TechnoZine)

    • I'd like to submit my own site L@nt@stic Internet & Gaming Lounge for the site of the month.

I've used the superb Sporticus Battlefield 2 modified to what you see now.

Of course I changed the main logo and edit the colour scheme to take on the red and black corporate colours that we have here in our lounge. I also made use of the typography css code build into the template which is a brilliantly easy way to get the look you're after (might add another -hilite class suffix later). Used RT Slideshow to add the few photographs of the lounge and also implemented the RT scroller and the Live Search too.

I have implemented the Google Map component which gives anyone looking for us a simple way to locate the lounge (which has only been open about 6 months). A slight problem to solve is the white text from the template making the info window display white text which I have to investigate to get fixed. This is implemented with a wrapper showing how easy it is to use.

I've also used a wrapper to implement our lounge status which is php page which shows the status of each pc in the lounge and what each computer is running and who is running that game or program.

I'm always looking for ways to make our website better and using this latest template with our modification is certainly a huge leap in the right direction.

      Thanks for reading.

Update: created a new '-hilite2' Module Class suffix which is coded to show a blue'ish background. A nice contrast to the red being used.
Update 2: Added the gallery image system which is a free to use mambot called Jogadgets. Lots of great little easy to use touches and can be found at http://www.jogadgets.com/

    • I will nominate a norwegian gym for their use of the latest RT template; sporticus.

      http://www.trenings-senteret.no

I think the site is very clean and sharp, just the way I like it. They will add more content and photos soon, but the design is finished and the site is in production.

    • Wow! Great job on the gym site. Can you please tell me what you are using for the image zoom? That's really cool and I've never seen it before.

      Thanks

    • thank you Philip

For the image zoom I use Highslide JS Bridge from Joomla prodigy. Actually it is a free mambot that works out very well.

    • I'll nominate my freshly-finished www.encompassed.co.uk .

Turned out to need a little more modification to the template than I expected (although nothing too drastic).

      - using Versatility II Sienna
      - RT Scroller News from Sporticus

      Other extensions:

      - MJ Frontpage
      - perForms
      - Attend Events (with custom payment gateway integrated)
