    • Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good hosting service that works well with joomla.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    • Many of us use Host Gator.

I'm sure other will have recommendations as well but I've been very happy with the speed of my sites, ease of use, and support.
    • Thanks,

    • I also use host gator.(thanks to a recommendation by Jem) I'm using the business package which I think is around $175 a year. You can host unlimited domains without any extra charge, unlimited SQL is and tons more. It's one of the quickest hosting I have used as of yet, I used to have reseller hosting Rochem and it's on par with them, maybe even a little quicker.

Reseller hosting is quite pricey. Unless you have quite a few clients that are paying you for hosting each year, I don't think it's worth going for. That's why I stopped using in favour of Host Gator

    • I really like the HG Control Panel!

Light years ahead of what I was using before.

      Sooooooooo simple, fast, and intuitive.

Site speed is at least 2X faster...

      Support is spot on!

I'm not a newbie when it comes to joomla, servers, php, etc. but sometimes I hit something I've never seen before and when completely baffled, HG support has bailed me out within minutes!

    • Isn't the Hostgator CP just an ordinarily cPanel CP?

    • Yes I think so, Cpanel is virtually the same as when I was on the Rochen, I haven't noticed a drastic difference.

The forum is great, I've had a few questions in the last couple of days and have them all answered within minutes of posting..

"ordinarily cPanel" really depends on your host, I moved from another provider, not only because they were overselling their hosting but because the CPanel they offered was from the stone age.

    • Retired, but build and run websites for organisations of school leaders and others - e.g. http://www.icponline.org, http://www.aspa.asn.au, http://www.appa.asn.au

    • I have used Rochen for a while now - shared hosting - and I've been very happy with their support, both in the forums and via the ticket system.

    • I switched from Rochen to Host Gator. I could not get my RocketTheme template demo to work on Rochen, did numerous installs and uninstalls both manual and with the RocketLauncher.

The same day switched to Host Gator, I loaded the RocketLauncher, and BANG! The demo appeared on my browser and it looked beautiful. :cheesy:

    • Hey, thanks for the hostgator recommendation. I've signed up with them and am quite pleased so far!

Uh, stupid problem I've run into though... I just did a RocketLauncher install and it's working fine, but I must have accidentally input the wrong username/password during the joomla setup because I can't login at the joomla administration login page.

Anyone know how I can reset the joomla admin username/password at this point?

      Thanks for any help.
