    • Hello,

Just create a new database using phpmyadmin in your xampp, and then install it like regular Joomla installation and put the database info with the new database your just created

    • Thanks Ariffin,

Does it have to be the same name as the database that is online and will it have all the info from my online site? I wanted to do this to try to work on the site on my laptop and change the template while not being online so that I didn't mess anything up. Thanks again for your help!

    • Hello,

You can put any name for the database. It doesn't need to be the same.

    • It is the same way, you can use JoomlaPack to backup the site in your localhost then install it in your live server

    • When going from localhost to web will it overwrite the old template and folders or do I need to delete anything? I'm doing a clean install everything new.

      Thanks,
      Kent

    • If you are doing a new clean installation and want to move the site you have developed from localhost to your live server, just use JoomlaPack to help you. After you move it to your server with JoomlaPack the site will be exactly the same like the site in your localhost
