PhpBB3 content NOT pushing Joomla footer down

Once i goto my forum and click on a post, it "pushes" down to make room for the content of the post, but my joomla footer stays in the same place. I can even see the copy in the footer coming through the "who's online" footer in the forum.
what's the deal?
