    SOLVED Advice for BATCH PROCESSOR

Posted 15 years 9 months ago
    • Hello there,
I have to resize 667 pics to be optimized for web.I found few programs that can help me,like Bimp.
But the problem is that some of the pictures are square 300x300 pixels, and others, are a rectangle200x400px.
I need a batch processor that is able to RESIZE CANVAS OF MULTIPLE IMAGES.In a way that the rectangle pictures would be 300x300 px ,but without DISTORTING THE PICTURE
ps:(it seems that BIMP CANNOT do that)
Any advice is very welcome :P

I downloaded squash but it seems doesn't resize canvas...only the actual size.
But......I found on Mr.Googles :P FastStone Photo Resizer, wich does resize the canvas and the picture it self!!!it's for windows, but i have mac and windows ,so it's ok!
      link to the download:
      www.faststone.org/FSResizerDownload.htm

      c ya :D
ps:if you have sometime, have a look in the new website i'm developing using RT template:
      www.funkysheila.com
(the pics i'm resizing are for this site)

    • The FastStone is good for resizing the picture, but ,i don't know why,it's not good when i optimize the picture.
      example:
if i do the same process of optimazation with photoshop,i get a final file with 20k
doing the same process with faststone or bimp(same settings,bicubic,50% quality, same size,72dpi) the same file has 52 k!
Any tips for a program that is ONLY for optimize for web are welcome(multiple pictures)

    • I got it!
Mr.Googles saved me again. So if you have a loooooot of pictures to resize, and you want true optimazation i recommend 2 steps:
1.dowload faststone(windows) link above.Just use it to resize the pictures, don't optimize them!!!!
      2.download jpeg optimizer here
      www.xat.com/internet_technology/download.html
      and optimize the pics.
This process guarantee a huge website(ecommerce-products) to run a light speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
