    • I know this posts.

My whish is, that when you update a template, please provide one folder, which contains only the updated files (in addition to the full package, like joomla.org does).

    • Template upgrades are a little more complicated because you may in the process of customizing your site change some files.

(Joomla upgrades are different because you almost never edit the core files that are upgraded. So when you upgrade, chances are you won't lose any changes in the process.)

For example, if the template.css file changes, even if it is shown to be updates, overwriting the template.css you have customized will overwrite your changes, so even if you have a list it doesn't make it much easier.

You can check this thread, too.

Also, you can check the change log for most upgrades.

    • Oh please, i know the problem of customizing files. I do some changings either in joomla core files. So i would never upgrade, before looking at these files.

What i ask for is a folder, that includes only the updated files, so i could take a look only at these updated files. In other case, i have to look at lists, sort the updated files out, synchronize them with my changings etc. etc. ... in my eyes its much easier to have only the updated files. Whats the problem with this?

Because there is already a standard in place for upgrading templates.

Each of us has to deal with the same issues each time we update templates on an existing site.

      It's really not that difficult.

I haven't seen a better / easier way of upgrading templates, RT or otherwise.

You may want to search or post on joomla.org to see if there is one.
