membership questions for a joomla/JomSocial/phpbb3 site

Apologies if this is posted to the wrong place, I just wasn't sure where it ought to go.
I'm thinking of getting the PHPBB3 Affinity theme, and buying a subscription to the Joomla Club to get the Affinity Joomla theme, and then purchasing JomSocial. But I wonder if you could answer a question about members....
My main site will be a membership site, with Q&A's posted by members. I want the PHPBB3 and JomSocial sections to be almost sub-sites, without the ability for people to join directly (ie they need to join the main site, and will then have access to the PHPBB3 forum and JomSocial areas.
My question is, if someone signs up for the main site, will they automatically then automatically have access to the PHPBB3 forum and JomSocial areas using their Joomla Username and Password?
Also, can I create accounts for them (I will need to for a certain level of account) and give them higher access level account in PHPBB3 automatically, or do I have to manually upgrade their account once created?

For user synching you will need rokbridge, but that does not allow to manage the users in one place, you have to set authorisation levels in joomla and phpbb3 seperately.

- ok, thanks -- I assume that Rokbridge automatically syncs the accounts, but just makes it a basic user account in PHPBB3?
