pop ups/ splash pages

Hi Guys,
I've got a couple of quick questions when one of you experts gets 5 mins please:
Firstly (& for some strange reason) my boss wants to put in a splash/pop up box page that pops up as soon as a user logs into the user are of the site saying welcome to the registered area etc etc..Does anyone know of a module that can do this or tell me the code we will need to place into the site & where to put it?
Also can someone please tell me how to align a custom module found in the left or right sections of the Mynxx template so that the module and the module title appears centralised (ive tried doing it by editing the module itself but havent had any joy)
Any help would be much appreciated.

I use "Pro Sticky Message" from ProJoom.com on my site and it works well. I had to modify my template slightly but it wasn't too hard.
