Can't find Rocket Luncher install page (help)

  • Can't find Rocket Luncher install page (help)

    • Hi,

I'm installing a 1.5 rocket launcher package to a folder on my domain, that is currently running on 1.0. The goal is to do a build out on the new install and then switch over.

I'm stuck and need your help.

      1. Created MySQL DB
      2. Created folder on server under my domain
      3. Extracted files from Moxy Rocket Launcher package, then FTP'd them into the folder.:

      NOW WHAT?

The rocket launcher install video said to go looking for:

      www.mydomain.com/folder/joomla_rt_template_moxy

"Not Found" -- no matter how I play with that. There's no installer in there using that address.

      What am I missing?

      Hope you can help.

      Thanks.

    • Prim,

I can't use the domain root because there's a live 1.0 install there -- right?

I tried to use the address you gave with the word "installation" at the end (substituting my domain name into the address), and still get Not Found.

      Confusing.

      Thanks for the effort.

      Any other possibilities?

    • If you have a site in your hosting root you need to upload into a new sub directory.

      1. login via ftp and make a new directory such as yourdomain.com/mynewdirectory

      2. upload the files from the rocket launcher package to the new directory you have created

      3. once uploaded type the new address into your browsers address bar i.e yourdomain.com/mynewdirectory

Then you should see the standard Joomla installer fire up

You may have to alter the permissions of the newly created directory

    • Hi Jerry (yes am subscribed to the thread) - The sub directory you have created do you know how to check the permissions associated with that directory using FTP? It is normally a right hand click and get info or properties or in some cases permissions or CMOD..

If you can do that set the permissions to 0777 and try again accessing that directory and see if then the installer starts. If not you can PM me your FTP details and I will take a look for you.
