I have always wondered why some people can get their news to appear in one column then go onto linkable pages. But most people's news are split into the 3 way system (Main one top - 2 side by side) Anybody know how to change it so its one solid column. (hope this is the right forum
)

In your Joomla admin choose Menu -> Main Menu and choose the Menu Item 'Home'. On the right hand side, under parameters, you'll see an option for the number of columns. Change this from '2' to '1' and voila
