Why does Rockettheme support K2 and not Resources?

    • Hi,

I think Rockettheme templates are simply the best Joomla templates around. I've been using them since about 2 years now. Right now my site uses the Affinity template and we get very positive reactions from our visitors.

The Affinity template has support for the K2 component built-in. I ask myself why RT is supporting this component. Allthough it promises a lot of very interesting features and looks like a very nice and promissing add-on for any Joomla site, the scripts are extremely buggy and support from the developers is nearly unexisting.

Would it not be better to support Resources from http://www.mightyextensions.com ? Allthough the features and the possibilities are slightly different, it looks like a much more stable component with a strong team of developers and very good support.

Can anyone of he RT team comment on this?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

      Frank

    • thHmm...because it's buggy, no free examples and their site gets hacked monthly?

Or maybe it's just me...

Have to agree on that...who chose ning for a community and forum?

    • Probably because k2 is completely free unlike Zoo or Resources which have pro versions?

    • JoomSuite changed their name because they have a horrible reputation among many many companies that put their trust in them and their components.

They also got hacked by a very disgruntled customer and changed their name shortly after.

Regardless of Joomla not liking it, it's not illegal to use the Joomla name as a word in a phrase.

      That's like saying you can't have a domain called "NikeShoes.com" or "SorelBoots.com".

    • I am currently using CB Subs and it is working great. I am surprised at how easy to setup and configure it is.

I tried out JUGA and AMBRA but I couldn't seem to get it to restrict content? I may have missed a step but it didn't seem straightforward to me.

To date I have tried the following:

      JoomSuite Member
      AMBRA / JUGA
      OSE Membership
two other ones I cant remember the name of...

They didn't work, or at least I had a hard time getting them to work...

I installed CB Subs and it works as advertised and I could setup CB Subs on a website and configure it within an hour.

Really impressed. The only problem is that it lacks coupon codes but that is coming in the future I guess.

You have any luck with membership/subscription components?
