I hope this is in the correct place. i have installed the affinity template and would like to offer a subscription service on my site. So in essence i would like to offer free registration for certain stuff and then have a premium subscription for things that people need to pay for.
I will warn you to stay away from "MightyExtensions" aka "JoomSuite". They have a horrible track record with myself and many many others I have come in contact with.
I recommend using CommunityBuilder and their plugin called CommunityBuilder Subscriptions. I am using it on a website I am building and it is indeed robust and seems to work well. I have tried many subscription components and realized most suck. CB Subs is usable.
Really interested to hear more about Mighty Extensions. I have been considering on their packages for a while and was actually ready to install as a test this weekend. What problems have you had?
If you can get pass the fact that they do not speak english and are located many thousands of miles away from the USA, that in and of itself is enough to deter me.
However, we installed some of their products and found that they don't all work as advertised, are very cumbersome, and the support is atrocious.
We installed JoomSuite Member to try and setup a membership/subscription website and were unable to figure out how the component works. This could be due to our own idiocy, except we were able to install CB Subscriptions and get it working in 30 minutes! It's really easy to use and has thorough documentation.
Hi, thanks for the tips but I have already purchased jomsocial so i need it to work with that. My understanding is that CB is similar to jomsocial......right?
