I bought that skin last year and I'm very pleased with it, I wanted to changed it up a bit while surfing here to acquire another skin but nothing seems to have a similar style of content like that skin had. this is why I was wondering if ever they will have a newest version of the Chromatophore theme. Don't get me wrong on this but for some reasons i'd love that theme. And maybe have more module position.

Several of the 2009 themes have color choosers for the admin on the back end.
The color chooser on the front / back end is a double edged sword.....
Allowing BOTH the admin and users to choose their own color schemes seriously limits the extensibility of the template.
Compare Chrmataphore to the templates prior to and after it...
You will notice that Chromataphore is 'rather square' compared to others... giving control to all the colors there is no wa to offer rounded corners or a smooth looking layout.
Hence, in the later templates with a Color Chooser, it's limited to the back end for the administrators.
(As a WebMaster, after you work your @$$ of to get your site looking right, do you really want you users messing with your PERFECT color scheme?)
In any case, take a look at Akiraka, Meridian, Solar Sentinel, etc....

- I have used Chromatophore on a couple of my sites, and I switch the front end colour chooser off. But I like the range of choices that I have in the back end, and I like the conservative range of background patterns. The recent circles, jagged edges, and so on, do not fit well with my clients. So I'd like an update of Chromatophore with some of the newest built-in features, but still with the colour chooser and the conservative patterns.
