Gallery for images and PDFs

- I would like to add an image gallery that can contain both images and PDFs. It needs to be set-up in a way that allows a text description of a paragraph or two on the page with the thumbnail images. It does not need the public to be able to add images but does need a content management component so my client can update it in the future. Any suggestions?

Ive heard a lot about the zOOm Media Gallery. I've never used it myself, but it does have a lot of features and functionality, including being able to contain both images and PDF's with an intuitive backend for management. From the comments though, there seems to be a few bugs with it so it might not work as a solution for your client. Maybe worth looking into atleast.
