Can You Mockup Designs With RT Templates inside Fireworks?

Alright so I'm a total newb to Fireworks and this is probably a stupid question. I'm just now learning how to do simple web design mockups inside Fireworks. Now my question is, instead of creating my own mockup from scratch in Fireworks, is it easy and practical to create a mockup for a client using a Rocketheme template source png? Like could I rather easily create a landscaping site home page that uses a modified Nexus template all inside of Fireworks? To be honest, it kind of scares me when I open up an RT source png and see all the stuff in there and I wasn't sure how to translate that into a full mockup as there are pieces everywhere.
Previously I have been actually installing the template in Joomla and manually adding graphics and such to the modules and editing the actual CSS files but this seems way too time intensive and impractical just to do a mockup that might be rejected by the client.

Hi,
Not a 100% design guru myself (that's why I am a member of RT and use their beautiful designs!!
)
But I would say you could do that. Of-course this doesn't mean your mockup graphic will be directly usable at export. When you would really want to create the template from your mockup you will need to adjust the slices in FW if necessary, export them, overwrite them and adjust css where necessary.
But as a client mockup yes, but when the client gives you a yes to your mockup, then your hard labour begins.
Addition.
The older templates and their source files tend to have the full designs, the newer one are often built out of more than 1 source files (i.e. source for modules, source for logo etc). You will need to put that together yourself in your mockup.
Easy > No
Possible > Yes
But of-course when you should create an empty FW file, you can copy and paste and create it. - Best regards,

- Hi Piet. Right, I understand it would not be exportable as-is, all I care about is getting the look down for the client. Once they approve the look, I can do the actual Joomla template setup no problem. But before I was doing "mockups" by actually altering the template itself, which technically wasn't really a mockup at all, it was an actual site, which turned out to be a huge timewaster if it was rejected. - So for the gurus here that use a lot of RT templates, is that what their workflow is? First using the RT template source files to create a mockup? I just want to make sure i'm using the most professional effective method possible.

I think it depends, sometimes a client doesn't want a mockup, but a live preview.
I have done both. Mockups and the same as you have done, re-create the RT template on a live site:

- Hey Piet, nice design. What's weird is that on your page, dev2.joomtorial.com/ , my cursor won't stay focused. If I click on my Google toolbar or my address bar in Firefox, after about a second the focus goes away. So if I click on the address bar and start typing, I can only type a few characters before it loses focus.
