posting a module in content

  • posting a module in content

    • I remember seeing a post here somewhere that explained a tag for putting a moudle into your content? something like assigning it to say user 9 position, then in the content using {user9} or something. What I am trying to do is get some rss feed scaping to fill in as some content on a page. Any ideas?

      Thanks,
      David Henderson

    • Hi,
      Yes you assign the module to a position not used in the template, and in your content write {mosloadposition user9}
(if user9 is not used in the template). You also need to make sure the mambot "Load Module Positions" is published.

    • Thanks, I will try that. Another question for all you forum surfers out there. Has anyone used rss feeds automatically posting into content on their pages? If so, what's the best way to achieve this?

      Thanks,

    • Hi there! I also have a module-related question... I have a Search-Engine-optimized module (user 4) on my homepage. Does Google index the module and see it as body text on my homepage? My website's address is www.southafrica-2010-accommodation.com Thank you! :)

      Hi David,

Yes, you're correct in saying that you publish it in an unused module of your template and then add the folloing code in your content.
      {mosloadposition user9} - if you use module user 9

      RSS Feeds:
Go to Modules in Admin section.
Create a new module and call it what ever..
Then go down to the parameters of that module and you'll see the RSS Feed Parameter.
Set the URL and test it..
Play around with how many items you want to show and description lenghts..

      Hopes this helps..
