How to show a different image on front page content?

Hi,
I'm sure this should be easy, but at the moment I can see how to do it.
On my front page news articles I'd like to show a small thmbnail due to the limited space, but when someone views the item I no longer need such a restriction and would like to display either a larger version of the same image or a different image altogether.
Can anyone suggest the best way to achieve this in Joomla 1.0x?

- You can 'automate' this by using the lightbox plug someone wrote (look on extensions site). This will effectively replace the functionality of mosimage tho. Or you could use the slimbox mambot I wrote (available via the sporticus forum), but you will have to have thumbnail and full size images available ahead of time.
