    • Hello all

      I though i'd posted this question before, but I must have drempt it :-)

      My friend has a site currently hosted with a hosting company. I am creating a new design for him on my own hosting company, and using an unused domain of my own while doing this.

      The new site is almost finished and I want to host the site with my company with a new hosting package

      I'm thinking that when the new hosting package is set up, I would like to know the best way for me to move the newly designed site to the new hosting package

      Can I just back up and upload to new host with FTP, and if so, what do I do about the references in the new design to the likes of HTML and CSS

      Is there a better way for me to make the change over at all?

    • How about using Joomlapack ?
      It will make the work easier.

    • Thanks Arfin, I have looked at Joomla Pack, but again, how would I deal with the issues of HTML when the references are to my current website? and are there any other aspects I need to think of, or does Jpack deal with all of this also?

      Yes, I've done it a couple of times. You'll also need to export the database and then import it to the new host Mysql server, and also modify the configuration.php file for the new host settings. This may sound hard but it's not so bad.

      Not sure what you mean here but manual links in the site will need to be updated after migration.

    • Yes, I agree with Sheldon by manually transferring the site. However, if you don't want to do it manually, there's another alternative JoomlaPack.
