This may seem like a pretty niave question but is there a way to load the demo as it appears on the demo site without using Rocket Launcher or using Rocket Launcher if I already have Joomla 1.5 installed? In other words, can I bypass the full Joomla install or is the only option I have to reinstall over the top of what already exists? I am fairly much an amateur at this.

All the advice that I have seen in these forums is that:
1. the only way to load the demo as it appears on the demo site is using Rocket Launcher; and
2. Rocket Launcher is meant for a new Joomla installation. You can delete your current installation (including the database) and install using Rocket Launcher. I would not install over the top of what is already there; I'd delete the existing one first. If you install Rocket Launcher over an existing site, then you will lose what is there.
Thanks for this info John. I think I will just take it from the manual installation at this stage. I'm not sure how you can maintain what is already done if you are deleting the previous Joomla install. It is a pity there is no other way to install the demo as is. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
