I'm having issues with my site loading really slow. Is there a site that can show me whats making my site load soo slowwwwww?

alot of slow loading can depend on the host. If its a shared server, you may be bumping elbows with others on that server. If its a dedicated host, you may want to check with them. If its your own box, then you may want to look at your various resource loads. Is your joomla db local or on another box, that could have a major effect on load times if there are many queries to get your homepage loaded.
It looks like the front page has alot of extra stuff in there. T&S, Frontpage slideshow, scoller module, etc.... I think i even saw a check in there for windows 3.1, is that right?
Im not an expert, so I cant offer much, but maybe try disabling one or more of those modules to see if the load times improve. That scroller module at the bottom is pumping out alot of inline styling that could improve your load time.
Im not sure if any of this will help, you likely have explored these things, just thought i would mention them just in case. Good luck

Hello Jason, thanks for the input. I tried turning modules on/off and the speed change was marginal.
A few years back I had a link to a site that when you inputted your url, it listed everything that loaded and how long it took. I cannot recall the site or application. I'm thinking it's JAVA scripts loading that shouldn't be. Example, If I recall correctly, there's a text editor loading everytime the page loads, even if an admin isn't logged in

I remember using a few of those sites but can't remember them either.
I did just recently check out this plug-in for firebug from yahoo:
developer.yahoo.com/yslow/
I have not got to thoroughly put it through it's paces yet, but at a glance it looks promising.

I have to agree, it looks to be a very powerful tool. Unfortunately it's suggesting advanced developer tips and corrections that are above and beyond my expertise level.
Is there a developer out there that would want to work on this with me?

Just thought about this issue again and I really had something weird happen. I was making some changes to the server and after I did, I noticed that I had messed up my ownership of the site structure. My home page took about 60 secs to load and most of the other links were faster, just the homepage was reeeeeeelly slow.
I ended up having to start over with my one site that wasnt very far, I know it wouldnt be an option for your site since it is up and fully functional, but you may want to look at permissions on the templates folder in your file structure.
I dont know if that helps, but it was the same kind of slow behavior on the home page, then everything else seemed ok, but I thought I should at least post my findings. Once I chmoded and chowned my folders properly, the site loaded perfect.
