I am using RT_Fire, but this question is not directly related to that template, more a Joomla question. I am looking for some guidance on how to set up some content for a church site I am building that has a great number of committees.
I have a menu link in the left position that displays the names of the committees in a table list. My question is how can I then have users click on the individual committee name and be shown blog content for each committee? I can only get it to show static content from text I input from within the category (committee name).
hi mike
you need to create either a section or a category for each committee then when creating a new link link to that specific category or section in a blog style to display only that committees section or category
I think I was incorrect/unclear in what I was wanting, sorry.
The left menu will only have a heading of 'Committees', under which will be a link 'View Committees'. Clicking 'View Committees' will take the user to a list (much like the FAQ set-up). From there I would like the user to see blog content for each committee. Maybe that is what you are saying, but I can't seem to get it.
If you want to take a look I can PM you a login...
it's okay. what i think you need to do is set up a new menu and call it committee. when you do this a module is automatically created for that specific menu you've created. within that menu you can set up anything you want and by the sounds of things you should probably create a new content section called committee and then new categories within that content section for each committee
when you are creating your first menu item for your new menu create it as a 'blog - content section' and pick the new section. then all the child entires of that menu would be 'blog - content category' for each specific category/committee that you've created
