Adding affiliate verification codes

Hi - I am relatively new to joomla and am busy adding my affiliates to my site but I am asked to put a verification code into my header but I have no clue how to do this with joomla/rocket theme.
Have found loads of extensions etc that will add verification codes for Live, Google etc but I just need to add a bog standard string into my header. Suggestion would be great!
