"Files do not exist errors" slowing my site

I am having website speed problems after installing and removing this extension - JoomlaWatch 1.2.9. Now my site is slower and sometimes gets this error in the front or backend: Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL
I tried to enable cache in the joomla global config area which seems to help however it messes up all the ads and layout of my site so I have to have it disabled.
I also noticed the error logs in the cpanel that say files do not exist. They look like this:
File does not exist: /home/senttr5/public_html/stnew/css-3744dbe314ef583b48e78d352ed147ef.php
My hosting company has also tried to help and say the following:
The issue is that the requested files (mentioned in the error log) do not exist. There may be a rewrite (or lack of a rewrite) in a ".htaccess" file.
If anyone can help please do.
The website that is running slow is www.sent-trib.com . Go from page to page and you will see it is very slow. It used to be fast. Also, while you are there view the page source and tell me if something is not right there. I also can't seem to find where I can edit that page. Te part where the stleysheets and javascript items are in the heading.
I need help or I could get fired! Please!!
